Hi all,
because of some odd circumstances, I need to take the unfortunate step of moderating comments - a move which doesn't suit my nature as I am not the censoring type. Please write whatever you like, still - even if it is in the unlikely event that you don't think my blog is the best thing since sliced pan ;) I would never block a comment here without very good reason indeed, and vanity is not a good reason.
You can try me out by telling me I smell like a diseased cat, look like a vagrant, and my writing is seven kinds of shite - or something to that effect. It'll get through my loose screening, guaranteed. Well, maybe I'll also deny the odd post from overly matey blokes with names like Bamba Xioa who 'luv this writing piece WOW! and gr8t interesting topics..fancy nipping over to my spyware infested forum for a relaxing cuppa strained from ground up rhinos and the world's last Snow Leopard? - it adds inches!'
I'll hopefully take the moderation off at some point.

Red Leeroy-I personally hate having to moderate comments and hopefully will not have to do go down this route for long, we'll wait and see. I'm reluctant to write much about why I'm doing it but it is basically an ongoing harrassment issue that has bled from my real life into the net. I'm not going to let it stop me from writing and being myself, but I can't allow one person to use my site as a forum for whatever weird and libelous things they might want to share.

I've bn reading yr stuff w/o commenting 4 a coupla mo's now & just wanted 2 say U R Xcellent. Definitely NOT compost. Read a lotta yr back pgs awhile ago & really Njoyed yr coverage of the local St. Patrick's Day celebration, music events, touring around town, local scenic spots including an oil derrick that looked like it was photo'd in Wyoming (where I useta live), etc. Some of yr stuff had me laffin my ass off. Moderate yr comments, do whatever ya havta do, but keep on. I'm a LONG way from Ireland, but am Njoying yr writing very much NEway....

Ah thanks so much Tad...its great to get appreciative comments from readers. I'm chuffed. The oil derrick probably was in Wyoming or somewhere...I normally just stick up random photos I find online to break up the writing. Sometimes they will very tenuously be linked to the content.
After a few hours of deciphering, Tad's comment is nice isn't it? Man, I'm old.

Eoin - it's because I can't accommodate four in this relationship...you, me and Jill Dando were bad enough, but now Anne Doyle too?
Fair enough Darragh, you can moderate my comments, but you can never moderate my feelings.
I started getting so many spam comments that I had to start moderating my comments too, it's a bit of a pain.
Sorry to hear yours were caused by other nasty factors! :(

I think moderate comments is really handy. Before I set that up I had no idea if anyone comment on posts other an clicking into individual post and you could never keep track on the comments that someone posted on a entry I put up months ago. Now you see each one as it comes in.
